Modern research depends on finding high quality data. The ICSD stands for a long-term tradition in collecting and curating inorganic crystallographic data. The data you find in ICSD goes back to the very beginning of x-ray diffraction analysis and has been extended ever since the first release of the database more than 30 years ago.
