FIZ Karlsruhe Advancing Crystallography Education Programme

Materials research is carried out worldwide. However, not all researchers are able to acquire all the helpful tools. Therefore, the FIZ Karlsruhe Advancing Crystallography Education Programme (FACE) was established to support research and education in structural chemistry in eligible developing countries through access to the ICSD. The FACE programme provides access to ICSD Web at campus level for three years.

The program was coordinated with the comparable programme FAIRE of CCDC. Interested parties of the eligible countries should have the possibility to use both products for their work in the field of materials research. More information about the FAIRE programme can be found at CCDC.

Beneficiaries of both programmes are expected to provide a brief annual summary of use for the duration of the FACE/FAIRE award and a brief summary of research or educational use at the end of the three-year period.  Researchers may reapply after three years.

We hope that this programme will enable educators and scientists to train the next generation of scientists and meet new challenges in inorganic materials research.
